Reflection

I guess this will be the last post required for this course. But of course it will not be the last post ever.
After going through the course for 14 weeks, I think I definitely have something to reflect upon it.
1) What do I like about blogging?
-I admit that I'm not a very confident person who is able to talk whatever ideas that struck into my mind to the public. So,through blogging, I can freely and comfortably expressing whatever I want to say.

2)What I do not like about blogging?
- Well, as blogging really makes me comfortable to express my words, I don't think that there is anything about blogging that I don't like.

3) What have I gained from blogging?How?
- The posts that I've typed are visible to public. And most importantly, they are visible to my lecturer and friends. So, in a way, through blogging, I can improve on my language skills as I need to be very precise with the choice of words and grammar so that my writing really reflects me as a becoming English teacher.

4) What do I like about the course?
- This course opens my eyes that there is a new and fresh atmosphere of providing pupils with teaching materials. The integration of technology in preparing the materials is something that should be considered by all teachers so that to bring in more fun and interesting elements.

5) What I don't like about the course?
- This is not something that I really don't like. But it is something that makes me experience a hard time. This is due to the time constraint to accomplish a particular task. Perhaps it has something to do with my time management. So, I don't think that the hard time is 100% coming from the course itself.

6) What I have learnt from the course?
- I have learnt that it is important to have communication with friends.This is evident when I have discussion with my friends to clarify on the requirements of a particular task. It really helps me in preparing the task.Besides, I learnt that it is crucial to engage in self learning. For example, when we were required to do photo editing, I explore and engage in trial-and-error session to know every feature in the Adobe Photoshop as it was the first time for me to use the software.
7)What I don't expect but have learnt from the course
- It's not just I've never expect of, but honestly, I've never been exposed to the term "E-book".So it is a very precious opportunity for me to be able to know and construct the e-book. Besides, I've also never expected to do tutorials. This is the first exposure for me. However, these unexpected things really have widened my knowledge.

8) What I have expected but not learnt from the course
- I have expecting to learn creating cartoon animation. However, even though I don't have the chance to learn it, I'm still satisfied and thankful to learn all the skills that are provided in this course.
9) If you can change anything about the course, state and explain what it is
- In my opinion, there is nothing about this course that should be changed. This is because it has served as a medium for me to improve and gain my skills and knowledge related to technology.

Learning without the element of fun will not bring about positive impact in pupils' learning. Pupils are children. And when we talk about children, we can never run away from the fact that they are really into fun, enjoyable and exciting activities.

So, I can see that through the use of children software can promote the element of fun in learning. However, the teacher has to play a role in making sure that the content of the software is suitable and useful in assisting pupils' learning. The point to be highlighted here is that pupils should not be asked to play games just to have fun only, but they should also be able to gain some skill or knowledge from it. In other words, the use of software needs to serve as a platform for pupils to strenghten their understanding of skills or knowledge that have been taught to them.

It's time to put everything together..

After submitting the assignment, now it's time to prepare for the portfolio.
I have downloaded the requirements of the portfolio sent by Izyan. It surely helps in organizing the content of the portfolio.
Portfolio is meant for making collection of the selected works. So it is important for me to gather all the tasks that I have completed before to be included in it.
Hopefully everything will turn out fine for me.

research analysis

This time around, the task is quite complex, or should i say,it's quite difficult.

Choosing the right article itself is quite hard. This is because we have to find the "right" content of the article to suit the requirement of this task.

I've found one article. I've read through it..hopefully this article matches what is required by the task.

I realize that in order to attempt this task, I need to put on my thinking cap and "set" my mind towards a higher order thinking.

If previously, people claimed that the tasks weren't that educational, I can assure all of you that this particular task is educational enough to be accomplished.

I think, through this task, it can challenge my critical thinking skill as i have to precisely analyse each and every single detail of the article.

I'll try my best to finish this task on time. I'm not really familiar with analysing articles. However, I will cooperate with my partner to figure out and accomplish this task.

getting better

in the past few weeks,i didn't even know what tutorial is.Now, after creating a lot of tutorials,I become more familiar with its "format".It's true..practice makes perfect!

Today's class is on the presentation of 6 topics.So far,we have finished 5topics.Basically the topics mentioned about the ability of teachers to work on the teaching and learning activities in the classroom with or without the existence of coursebook. It is all depends on the teacher on how to manipulate the available materials with relation to children's background knowledge,level of proficiency and interest.
All of the contents of the presentations,plus the previously learnt skills,if combined and well interpreted,can become a framework or guide so as to prepare me to become a capable and flexible teacher one day.

the skills

this time around we are required to complete a new task which is to produce materials and use the skills that we have acquired in the past few weeks such as video editing,audio editing etc in order to come out with teaching resources to teach skills such as listening,reading,writing and speaking.
i realize now that all the tasks that Pn. Foziah had assigned before this did come in handy.i don't have to rack my brain thinking of how to take only some parts of a video or audio as i've practised how to do it in the previous tasks.
i hope that everything i've planned for this task will go smoothly.
and last but not least, million of thanks to Pn. Foziah for being so considerate in extending the dateline for our assignment.i'll try my best to use the time given wisely.

video published..

i feel guilty of publishing this post later than the actual time. It's quite a relief when Pn Foziah said in the class that she understood our situation..being so attached with the task assigned makes me forgot about publishing another post..i'm so sorry.

Whatever it is, i enjoy working on the video..me and my partner have put all our effort in making the video entitled "Love".
In producing this video, we have always bare in mind that there should be a message conveyed to the viewers when they watch the video.

We are quite satisfied with our work.

E Book..

For this week, we are required to create one e book. This is my first time working on this kind of project. Given the choice either to work in pair or individually, i choose to work in pair.

For me, working with friend benefits me in ways that i can expand my ideas and reflect upon my ideas from another people's perspective. Besides, this is an opportunity for me to engage in peer learning. if i happen to have difficulty in the work, i can always refer to my friend for guide.

It helps me a lot.



This project is meant for young learners. Thus, the right choice of materials are crucial so that this e book can be interesting enough for children.

me and my friend have discussed and listed down important features that should be taken into consideration. Firstly, the colour of font should not be of dull colour. Secondly, we think that cartoon images can grab children's interest rather than using real pictures of people. thirdly, the pictures and texts in the e book should not be static. in order to make it interesting, animation should be applied to the pictures and texts. And finally, the choice of music should be suitable for children.

So You Think You Can Dance...

Each group was required to edit one episode of "so you think you can dance". Our group got episode 5..The process of downloading the episode ran smoothly..So did the converting part..I was so happy that my group members are so cooperative.We went for a discussion to get the work done.
Due to this task, i've got the chance to try out another converter introduced by my friend..FreeFlvConverter is absolutely user friendly!Thanks to my friend for the information..
I hope in the next tasks, i can get to explore other software.

Audio Editing

Finally, i have finished the task given. even though i'm quite familiar with the software used(Sony Sound Forge 8.0), it took me a while to get the idea on how and what song to be edited. I look through into my songs collection and found a song "Hey Mickey" in two versions.
As the beginning of the song in one of the versions was quite boring, i decided to combine the two versions so that the part which i found it to be boring can be replaced with the beginning part of the other version.
This work required some patience as i have to listen to the song over and over again to make sure that the product would meet my expectation.

another task to be done..

we have been assigned to complete another task..this time, we are required to do the audio editing..after Pn. Foziah has given us the time to listen to the audio that she has edited, i think that i have brief ideas on how to do this task..i have some experiences on editing audio..but making minus one is another thing..i hope that i can manage to accomplish this task on time

mission accomplished

What a relief to have finished up the task on photo editing on time..At first, i found it quite hard to work on the editing process using Adobe Photoshop..in fact, i've never encountered that particular software before.
However,i manage to do it on time.Puan Foziah was right about how important peer learning is..it is proven when i felt lost while trying out editing the photo using that software..a special thanks to my friends for giving me the help when i needed it the most..

photo editing

This time, the task given to use seems more interesting..We have to edit photo using software suggested to us..Adobe Photoshop..I've heard of it before but i've never have any experience using it before..
One thing interesting about this course is that it gives me self satisfaction when i am able to explore and master the software that is suggested by the lecturer.
Right now, i'm still in the process of exploring and experimenting this software.
I hope that everything turns out to be find for me.

assignment in progress

it's been quite a tough week...with all the assignments that are totally not familiar with me..
before this, the assignments were the type out ones..now, with all the technology,makes me feel quite dizzy,and almost suffocate!
However,thanks a lot to Pn Foziah for her concern to check whether we have understood the requirements of the assignment or not..
thankfully,we have successfully distributing the duty for everyone in the group.
and everybody seems to work hard and cooperating in order to complete this assignment

tutorial?

when Pn. Foziah mentioned about 'tutorial', i keep wondering what it's about..
at first, i thought that tutorial is some kind of task sheet for students..how this gets into my mind?haha..well, since our assignment is to produce resources to teach year 5 students, i thought that tutorial would be follow up activity for the resource..i got it wrong!!
thanks a lot to Pn. Foziah for clarrifying what tutorial is..
i've seen some tutorials before such as a guide to register the printer warranty online. now i have brief ideas on how to create the tutorial

new task!!

today we're given a new task..
the task requirement is totally new to me...
i'll try my best to accomplish it..
i can't wait to start working in my group!!
